GDP

  • UK quarterly GDP is estimated to have grown 00% in Q4 2022 (Oct to Dec). In Q4, services output was flat, production fell by 00% and construction grew by 00%.

Confidence

  • GfK’s Consumer Confidence Index increased seven points in February to 00.

Inflation

  • Annual inflation eased for the third consecutive month in January, rising 00%, from 00% last month – a five-month low.

Labour Market

  • The unemployment rate for September to November increased by 00pp on the quarter to 00%.

Retail sales

  • Retail sales rose by 00% YoY in January according to the Retail Economics Retail Sales Index, against an 00% rise in the previous year.

Credit and housing market

  • Annual growth in unsecured lending rose by 00% from 00% last month. Consumers borrowed an additional £00bn in credit on net in January, following £00bn of borrowing in December.
